Quilt Preparation

Quilt top - well pressed with all threads cut.

Quilt backing - 4” larger than the quilt on all sides.

-         backing pressed with seams pressed open.

-         Backing should be square, all sides trimmed even

Do not add any embellishments until after the quilting process.

Fold the quilt and backing separately.  Do not baste or pin your quilt prior to shipping.

Indicate the quilt top and backing top if necessary.

Place the quilt and backing in a plastic bag, then in a sturdy box for shipping.

Tips for bordersBorders are the number one problem for machine quilters.  To avoid border problems always measure your quilt to see the exact length the borders need to be cut.  Always pin the borders to the quilt and then sew.  This will prevent the fabric from “walking” and creating fullness in the border or the body of the quilt.
